    As a reminder, we have worship services at 8 am outdoors (weather permitting), 9 am prayer under the pavilion, 9:30 in person (inside), and online at Facebook and YouTube. Invite someone to come with you to worship.


    News & Notes Bakers Needed - Local Mission Opportunity - On Saturday, September 18th FWUMC will be providing dessert for guests at Harvest Table in Washington. We will need cookies to serve 100 guests. If you can bake a batch or 2 of cookies and freeze between now and Friday, Sept. 17th please call or text Deb Warren at 314-484-1199 or email debwarren56@yahoo.com. Bring in your cookies in large ziplock bags and drop off at church Monday-Friday 8-12 or call me for a home pickup anytime by September 17th. On Friday, September 17th cookies will be placed in small bags for individual servings at church starting at 2pm. If you are able to help with this please let Deb Warren know. Suggestion of snickerdoodles, chocolate chip, or oatmeal (no nuts) but if you have a special cookie please make that.


    Red Cross Volunteer Opportunities: Ever wonder what happens AFTER the storm? The Red Cross is there to help those who have been affected. Now, after Hurricane Ida devastating parts of Louisiana – and wildfires still displacing thousands out west – will this be the time you step up to be the shelter in the storm?     Sewing Group: Will meet every Wednesday from 6:30-8:00 PM at St. Louis Bread Company starting next week on September 8.


    Grief Class: will meet each Sunday October 3 to October 24 after second service in the last classroom on the left. It will be taught by Carla Campbell and Sonja See. We will use two short study books and share as much as each person wants to. Please RSVP to Carla (cjccwc_63055@yahoo.com) or Sonja (ijayhawk@att.net), or the church office (diana@firstwashingtonumc.org) so we can get enough books. Also, you will get information about the class before it begins. Any questions, talk to Carla or Sonja.


    Men's Devotional Group: Meets the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month at Cafe Mosaic at 8:00 AM Men's Breakfast (tomorrow): Meets the 2nd Saturday of each month at Franklin's Restaurant at 8:00 AM.
